Australia Open Tennis

US Open 2009 will be marked as jinxed just because the kind of instances happening throughout the tournament. Now we’ve caught Roger Federer having a outburst at the the chair umpire, when he he disagreed with his opponent, Juan Martin del Potro, being allowed to challenge a call after a lengthy period of time.

Unlike Serena, Federer was right this time, though he looked under lots of match pressure. Federer said,”I wasn’t allowed to challenge after two seconds. The guy takes like 10 every time.” The umpire told Federer to be quiet, and this did not sit well with the tennis champion: “You have any rules? Don’t tell me to be quiet, ok? When I want to talk I’ll talk, all right…I don’t give a shit what he said, ok?”

This is how things went and unfortunately Roger Federer lost this match to Juan Martin del Potro in the end. Please Watch Roger Federer Outburst Video below after the jump.

Juan Martín del Potro defeated Roger Federer , 3-6, 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-2 to win US Open grand slam which is his first ever grand slam and mind you.he is just 20 years old youngster. He stopped Roger Federer from achieving a record sixth US Open title. It looks like a new champion is borne.

As Telegraph UK Reported:-

The 28-year-old Federer, aiming to equal the streak of six US titles in a row notched by American Bill Tilden in the 1920s, fell behind in the third set, before recording a run of four straight games to break Del Potro twice, winning the set when the 20 year-old from Tandil served two consecutive double faults.

As Associated Press Puts it:-

Due to some rough weather at the 2009 US Open, play was suspended numerous times, and it forced the final round of competition to be pushed back to Monday morning at Bethpage Black. With several players near the top of the leaderboard, thoughts of a playoff came to mind. According to the rules of the US Open, a playoff results in an extra 18 holes of golf, and with the tournament already pushed back to finish Monday morning, the playoff would take place on Monday in the late afternoon if it had to be played. That would be a lot of golf for even the best of players, and had to be in the mind of the leaders heading into the final holes of play at the Open.

Whatever it is the winner is rewarded with the cheque of $ 1.5 million and also a key to the brand new lexus. So congratulations Del Potro.

rafael nadal wins australian open 2009

Email This Post To Your Friend

Rafael Nadal has once again beaten Roger Federer in Australian Open 2009 in a grueling five set match which spanned for more than 4 hours with a score 7-5,3-6,7-6,3-6,6-2.

I must say if you are a Roger Federer fan then it was not a great sight to watch the Champion got beaten at the hands of Nadal like this. Well you must be wondering why i am saying this.

It was the second time that i saw Federer crying after the match is over. The first time i saw him crying was when he won Wimbeldon title for the first time in his career. The second time i saw him crying is today at the Australian Open 2009. The only difference is today he lost it.

As reporter Eleanor Preston rightly puts it, “He cried, and it was hard not to cry with him. The sight of Roger Federer’s lower lip trembling would have been enough to start most soft-hearted observers off, but by the time his tears started flowing, a far proportion of the 15,000 at Rod Laver Arena and the millions watching around the world were probably reaching for the tissues too. If that had not done the trick, then the sight of Rafael Nadal, his conqueror, putting his arm around him in friendly consolation, would have set off a worldwide outbreak of sniffles. Australia, perhaps more than any other nation on earth, values mateship, and you will not better embodiment of that than the sight of one great champion comforting another.”
