Mary_travers_John_Singing

Mary Travers who alongwith Paul Stookey and Peter Yarrow became famous for performing some of America’s most beautiful folk anthems and were famously called Peter, Paul and Mary, died at the age of 72. Mary died after the complications arise from leukemia, at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut today. She had already gone under bone marrow transplant earlier, however after some time her condition became critical and was completely bed-ridden.

As Rolling Stone Magazine Puts it:-

Travers was born in Kentucky but attended high school in New York’s West Village, where her family lived in the same building as folk icon Pete Seeger. She became a disciple of the Weavers and performed with Seeger before Yarrow and his manager Albert Grossman (who later steered Bob Dylan’s career) recruited her for the trio. After seven months of rehearsals, the group made its debut in 1961 performing songs carefully arranged by Milk Okun. Their self-titled debut came out the following year and boasted the Grammy-winning “If I Had a Hammer,” as well as “Lemon Tree” and Seeger’s “Where Have All the Flowers Gone.” They hit Number One with “Leaving on Jet Plane” from 1967’s Album 1700, but made a large impact off the charts as leading voices of protest.

Almost people from all the age groups loved melodious songs of Mary and company as they were simple and easy to understand. Her magical song Puff the Magic Dragon was especially famous among kids and adults alike. Mary Travers is dead and this news shocked everyone who really loved music, however that’s a circle of life. And it always stops somewhere. God Bless Mary Travers.

jennifer_grey_patrick_swayze

Actress Jennifer Grey the much celebrated co-star of Patrick Swayze in “Dirty Dancing ” recently released a statement which says that she is hurt and shocked by his death.

The Jennifer Grey statement reads:-

Patrick was a rare and beautiful combination of raw masculinity and amazing grace. Gorgeous and strong, he was a real cowboy with a tender heart. He was fearless and insisted on always doing his own stunts, so it was not surprising to me that the war he waged on his cancer was so courageous and dignified. When I think of him, I think of being in his arms when we were kids, dancing, practicing the lift in the freezing lake, having a blast doing this tiny little movie we thought no one would ever see. My heart goes out to his wife and childhood sweetheart, Lisa Niemi, to his mom, Patsy, and to the rest of their family.”

Well when someone dies it’s always a sad occasion and we all saw that when Michael died. You can see Jennifer Grey Pictures and video by clicking here.

michael-jackson-funeral

Michael Jackson was laid to rest finally for god sake at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park in Glendale where the funeral was attended by more than 200 elite of Jackson’s family and friends members exactly 70 days after he was found dead.

Again this was a moment where you are reminded of his greatness as you can see the sorrow on the faces of visitors. The event was scheduled after sunset, however most of these so called family and friends members arrived late and thus the funeral ceremony started quite late.

Everyone attending was wearing black dresses and the children of Michael Jackson were watching the proceedings almost helpless as they buried this great man. Jackson’s children placed a crown on their father’s coffin — a nod to his moniker, the King of Pop. Gladys Knight sang the gospel hymn “His Eye is on the Sparrow” and songwriter Clifton Davis sang a tune he penned for the Jackson 5 that became one of their signature songs — “Never Can Say Goodbye.”.

We really don’t know what will happen to him now but May God Bless His Soul. Also See Michael Jackson Funeral Ceremony Pictures below after the jump.
