This the worst piece of generic garbage I have ever heard. it should be Jordan sparks’ new song. the lyrics are so juvenile. with every step I climb another mountain? there’s no way a line that a 3rd grader can come up with should be repeated in the song. its bad enough once.

Okay…so..the lyrics you have to admit are kind of cheesy! Even when Simon made a comment about them,you could hear Kara saying,”I know”! Adam screamed the song, and Kris was rather sullen and lazy in the beginning. Kara admitted the song wasn’t written for Kris’ vocal range, but he managed to eek it out! I think Danny Gokey would have nailed the song, and America would be much happier! The judges all but shot Kris down..I think that’s why America voted for him! Glad they did! I thought Adam totally sucked! In the end, the real finalists should have been Allison and Danny…with Danny being the winner! Allison would have nailed the song too! It is what it is, and sometime’s I think it’s rigged! Okay..I’m done ranting! I appreciate all the opinion’s…gives nice insight into others thoughts and feelings!

oh dear, that song is really poor for kara! i was expecting so much more from her…but i guess it what you have to expect from AI, like last year for example, Time of My Life was not a great song, tho i liked the chorus but ‘magic rainbow’ didnt do it for me.

No one is talking about the awful,amateur,sub-karaoke execution of this song by both Adam and Kris.This song was written by professional songwriters,actual musicians who are keenly sensitive to micro-tonal deviations from the strictness of the melody,as it was -intended- to be sung.Furthermore,the oozing lack of sincerity and conviction in the delivery of the lyrics and message of the song by both was vocal malpractice at it’s worse.
So,while the song may be a predictable sliver of cliche,intended to appease the record company execs,and the evermore simplisitic musical appetite of the buying public,make no mistake,this song was poorly-sung,poorly-delivered and it is a shame when good songwriters songs are butchered in such a way as to egregiously misrepresent the intent of the writers.To conclude,Adam and Kris failed miserably to perform a song that could be and should be a hit.

What’s with this Kara bashing scene going on here..??? Personally the first time I saw her on AI I didn’t like her.. I felt that she was a little of an attention seeker.. Good news is that she has earned her spot as one of the judges and for this song… what is wrong with it?? I think she have proven her talent as a song writer..as she has written many chart topper songs.. and stop bashing her with yr insensitive words!!.. I find her quite talented and best of all she can also sing. give her a chance.. Its not easy for a newcomer to enter a show which has been on air for years..

I don’t understand why everyone keeps saying how bad this song is. I honestly love it and I’m not afraid to admit it. Kara is an amazing song writer and has written a ton of hit songs for Pink, Carrie Underwood, David Archuleta, Christina Aguilera, Pussycat Dolls, and many, many more. Oh come on, stop criticizing bout the lyrics of this song already. It’s a really nice song IMHO and the lyrics don’t have to consist of bombastic words to be meaningful. Ever heard of sweet and simple? I support Adam though. He sings like a girl. Which is what makes him great. How many guys out there has a vocal range like his? One in a million? Kris, to me, is just like one of those ordinary guys out there. In conclusion, Kris and Adam won. This reminds me of the battle between the two Davids. David Cook might have won, but I think David Archuleta is more famous, no? Just my opinions.

Lyric wise, the song has a good message and meaning. The only problem is that is damned corny. Too many metaphors. I mean;

It seems to me that it follows a pop-ballad-pattern, with all the MOUNTAINS, and Rain and Pain, and all that stuff.

Next, Kris and Adam both performed the song well. Adam brought his incredible range and Kris brought his pop-nesss. Obviously, It was not for kris’ range (Did Kara do that on purpose?)
Another issue: Don’t bash Kara entirely. It was COWRITTEN after all. We don’t relly know which parts she wrote. Maybe her parts even got left out completely(remember, that is possible)
Next, the greatness of a song is not measured by it’s popularity. Even if this song ROTS IN HELL,It’s still decent.
Stop arguing already. Just because someone likes it doesn’t men they’re gay. Just because someone despise it doesn’t mean that they only listen to uber heavy metal.
Lyric-wise, it has a few crumbs of brilliance. Melody wise, it is a bit catchy…
