Megan McAllister and Philip Markoff are getting married coming August 14, 2009 however if Boston police is to be believed then Phil Markoff is a Prime Suspect in The Craigslist Killer Case and was arrested last night.
The Craigslist Killer killed Julissa Brisman, 26, last Tuesday inside a Boston hotel during an alleged robbery. It is unique case of crime as Philip Markoff is believed to have placed a personal ad on Craigslist to attract Julissa Brisman and then killed her.
It’ll be quite an irony for Megan McAllister if this drama comes true as she was waiting to wed this man of her dreams who is now turning out to be a Killer. She must be in a quite shock as of now and repeatedly denying that Philip can ever kill anyone as he hadn’t killed an ant till now according to her.
Some People have already started to compare Markoff with Patrick Bateman character in American Psycho however Markoff Seems to have killed the victim just for the money and not for the blood. Now what Markoff’s future hold for him remains to be seen.

I am really sad that this has happened to this young woman!! I am not convinced these pictures are Markoff. I would like to see them zoomed in closer! See the spot on his head? Balding? What are the Face spots? The shoulders? The chin? The skinny guy with the cap has no mouth.? What if this is the wrong man? People even his neighbors are not standing up for him.?? Sad! Pray people! God can bring in to light everything hidden! Truth to be manifested!! Please pray as if he were your family and you knew he was innocent! Pray for the killer to be found!! So, this doesn’t go on! How many times have you personally walked in to a place and someone said, Wow you have a twin! Could that be the case? Please pray! I don’t know this man or his family and I live way far away! Thank you!

unfortunately, sherri, the evidence points to this guy. people who know him have admitted that the surveillance photos are indeed him.
what about the facts like police tracing the computer that was used to send emails to the victims to his apartment and police finding a gun and plastic restraints in his apartment?
also , have you seen the latest news about how underwear from the victims was found in his apartment along with the gun? looks like he was keeping them as a souvenir?
things dont look good at this point.

Sad true but HOW can you explain the evidence found in the guy’s apartment- the victim’s underwear, gun, duct tape.
Is it possible that the REAL killer planted them there? Highly unlikely.

Please send a link to the site where the people who know him have ID him. I see the similarities in the photo as mentioned,I hear all the time that I have a twin. Gun? Fired? Matching Bullets? DNA found on the body. Underwear? Is that how they know it is hers? Planted? That would not be a first. I realize anyone who made contact with her is a suspect. I would think he is not the only one. I will watch the evidence as it comes up, meanwhile I am really Praying the guy who really did this, is the one who is convicted. Whoever that might be. Only God knows for sure. As far as the Psycho references I am hearing that is really sad. Because there are much more stories about Mistaken Identities than those of Psycho accounts. What happened to innocent until proven guilty in America? Let us not be so quick to pass a judgement that we miss the one who did this. If it is not this young man. Only God knows. And we need to pray! Whatever is in darkness be revealed without a shaddow of any doubts! Yet another life hangs in the balances if they could be wrong and he is framed. Justice!

Okay Guys. I found the new evidence. Has it been stated how the determination was made that the underwear belonged to Julissa? How long does a DNA test take?
And the Gray’s Anatomy Book? That would be very obvious. Almost too obvious.
The victim said: by the clothing. That is her ID. Maybe and Maybe not. Pretty universal dress.?
Yes, I think planting evidence is still done today.
Still a cry to pray for the conviction of the man who has done this. And for Julissa’s family. And the Markoff family.

Sherri – consider these facts (paying attention to the point that “All three women had met Markoff”):
Markoff was charged by Boston police for Brisman’s murder and the robbery of another woman, Trisha Leffler, also in a Boston hotel, two days earlier. He’s also being eyed by Rhode Island police for the Warwick Holiday Inn Express robbery. All three women had met Markoff, police say, through advertisements they had posted on Craigslist.

Well at least now I know that I would want Sherri on my side if ever I was a victim of overzealous and corrupt LE officials.
Usually the simplest explanation turns out to be the truth. Pointing to a conspiracy theory and evidence planting might be a bit of a reach at this point (This will likely be one of Markoff’s defense tactics though). But lets see how the case further evolves. Some of the latest updates state that robbery victim from Westin Copley has positively IDd Markoff?

Philip Markoff’s Fiancee Says “Craigslist Killer” Suspect a “Beautiful Person”
Philip Markoff, a 22-year-old medical student who stands accused of luring women posting Craigslist ads for sensual services to, in one case, their deaths, has been called “a beautiful person inside and out” by Megan McAllister, the woman to who he is engaged to be married.
The Philip Markoff – Megan McAllister wedding, according to their website (since removed, I wonder why?), is scheduled for 115 days from yesterday.
Megan McAllister sent an email to ABC’s Good Morning, America, in which she said that Philip Markoff “could not hurt a fly,” and that he was “a beautiful person inside and out.” Finally she added that their wedding is scheduled for August and that they expect to “share a wonderful, meaningful life together.”
Philip Markoff, a Boston University student was arrested last night in connection with the death of Julissa Brisman (last week). She advertised massage services on Craigslist. He has also been charged in a prior attack on a different woman, and police suspect he may be involved in other crimes against women who posted similar ads on Craigslist. He has no prior criminal record.
Megan McAllister is not the only person to leap to Philip Markoff’s defense. In an interview on “The Today Show,” James Kehoe, one of Markoff’s best friends during his time as an undergrad at the University at Albany, said:
“He was one of my best friends in my dorm, in a dorm with a lot of people I didn’t connect with that much. He was one of the people that I felt I could really get along with. I felt like he was smart, an intellectual, nice, friendly guy.
“One of the things that kind of struck me about him was that he was for all intents and purposes a guy’s guy. I rarely saw him out with women. One of the normal things people do in college is find someone of the opposite sex to connect with. That was not something he wanted to do.”
In a somewhat damning statement, however, Kehoe noted that when he saw pictures taken by hotel security of the suspect in the cases, he was sure it was Philip Markoff.
“I just saw one picture. It didn’t take more than that. It was him.”

Thank you Diggy, Dennis and others. My heart is just really grieved tonight. To see this young man laugh in the photos above, and i’m so sad! I see a Child.
I do see more evidence surfacing. I am still just watching and praying.
I still want to hear the DNA results for the Underwear test and such. I know, what are the odds they would be there, and in a book?
Markoff sounds very intelligent and A’s in science and more. It is so odd to think he would be careless with the finger prints and such. I just find it so very odd.?
I can say from the bottom of my heart, I pray he is not!

What I don’t understand … Let’s assume the guy is innocent. I none-the-less find it extremely difficult to reconcile the description “a beautiful person inside and out” with a man who, while clearly in a committed relationship, is responding to ads on Craigslist for exotic massage. If I were in the fiance’s position that alone (never mind any criminal allegations) would make me wonder what the guy’s all about.

Bradley, Thank God for the Judicial System. I pray you get mercy when you need it. We are all guilty of breaking the Law! Speeding?
This man, although involved in some not so good behavior, At Best, is still innocent until proven guilty. Of the murder that is. DNA?. Finger prints on the ties.
And by the way, this innocent until proven guilty was implemented to protect us from being sentenced for a crime we didn’t commit. Time to prove out innocence. A Right in a country where our rights are disappearing slowly.
A. Reader above. He was obviously meeting with women. And if I were his fiancee, the relationship would end, for that reason alone. But the most important issue at hand is: Is this guy guilty of Murder? Does that behavior make him a murderer? No. A fornicator but not a murderer.
Evidence! Real Evidence with some DNA attached. We will soon know some more.
Speculation! Suspicion! We are all capable of this! Show me the DNA. And the DNA that convicts him of murder.
I am still praying and waiting. A girl’s life was snuffed out at an early age. A Tragedy! A guy’s life might end guilty or not.
My prayer is that if he is not the one, please new evidence soon. If he is, God Forbid, let it all come forth quickly for resolve.

you are a nice person Sherri and I agree with you: innocent until proven. But it seems to me the police has a lot of evidence here. Also hear they are investigating text messages sent on his Blackberry connecting him to the locations of the 3 crimes. What I have seen so far the evidence is overwhelming. And like you it is hard to understand that someone who is said to be very intelligent leaves a trace of evidence so overwhelming …. it is odd. If Markoff did all of this he certainly did not study the crime libraries.

Wake up Sherri! You’re in more denial than his fiancee who still thinks the wedding will continue…yeah, perhaps in prison where Markoff WILL spend the rest of his life (unless he tries to hang himself again)!!
MOTIVE: It is known that Markoff had huge gambling debts from the line of credit he opened at Connecticut’s Foxwoods Casino. His motive for robbing the ladies from Craigslist was to payoff his debts. Unfortunately one of the robberies went bad and he shot and killed a lady who fought back.
FACTS: Besides the “smoking gun” recovered from his residence, and 2 different sets of underwear from different victims, the handcuffs he used to bind them, surveillance video, his fingerprints at various crimescenes, his computer records which shows he viewed the Craigslist ads, and e-mailed each of the victims, his cellphone records which shows he used his blackberry at each of these locations (at the same moment he is seen using them in the hotel videos, and the victims (and victim’s husband) positively identifying Markoff as the suspect, gee, I just can’t think of why anyone would assume this poor kid is guilty.
Denial, not just a river in Egypt.
I wonder how much your opinion would change if the police had this much evidence against a middleclass Black guy instead.

Logan, prejudice remark! How do you know I am not Black. And to tell you the truth the smile and laughter I see in his picture above, is very child like and the remorse I here is not that of a serial killer who is usually a Sociopath and has no remorse. They are the one’s in denial. Delusional. You can’t fault someone for hoping in the best for this guy. I still pray he is not the one.
I guess if he were a Charles Manson type I would have different thoughts. But Really this isn’t about black and white or rich and poor.
It is about a young man who until now has had a descent reputation of being kind, asking how others were doing before himself and such.
I realize the evidence is mounting. I know the underwear were found, or a pair of underwear. No DNA as in the State of Delaware it takes 2 months to achieve but they are rushing it with the DNA found on the body. Where is the material found under finger nails, if he has scratches? The finger prints are on the other set of ties not Julissa’s.? I am reading some conflicting stuff.
I pray the right guy is facing this life sentence. I am sure we all agree on that. Until then, I am waiting and praying until it looks like he did it without any shadow of doubt! My opinions are not made yet!

I don’t have time nor will to debate you. I realize the guy is guilty of meeting with the girls, most likely. However not convinced he murdered Julissa. That does not make me insane! DNA is all I want to see. Or Not See!!

apparently he told his family to “forget about me”. Should be getting some news about the identification of the gun. Don’t know why this interests me so much but I guess I am not the only one …
It would be interesting to know if this guy’s situation was really so desperate that one could somehow understand his behavior. Otherwise it probably also had a “fun” or “excitement” element for him. Clearly this guy is guilty, no doubts.

My opinions are not an argument. It is a hope that this young man is not guilty.
Correct me if I am wrong, but all the evidence is not in yet, to bring about a conviction. Or they would be in a court room trial right now. And not searching for any more evidence. Do they have enough evidence to convict him?
I am a mother of young men and I pray this young man is not guilty, despite all the odds thus stacked against him.
Not so good behavior is a nice way of saying; he at Best met with a girl advertising “exotic massages”. More than one.
I bet he is not the only one! Are they all murderers?
There could still be a jealous lover! There could still be others? Meeting after her. Was she there before him? Did she pay for the room? Was he the last to leave?
The Media, keeps saying underwear belonging to the two girls. Funny. How do they know they belonged to 2 different girls? How do they know without DNA? Too soon. Read the link that says they put a rush on the DNA found on Julissa’s body. Normally takes 2 months in the state of Delaware and yet the night they found the underwear, they said, “it belonged to both victims.” ??

BOSTON (AP) – A Boston medical student has been ordered held without bail on charges that he fatally shot a masseuse he had lured to his hotel through Craigslist.
Twenty-two-year-old Philip Markoff said nothing during a brief hearing Tuesday.
Prosecutors say they found a semiautomatic weapon at his home, as well as ammunition and materials exactly like those used in an attack on another masseuse in Boston.
Markoff is charged with murder in the death of Julissa Brinkman of New York City and kidnapping and armed robbery in the other assault.
Markoff’s attorney, John Salsberg, did not immediately comment

You are correct, all the evidence is not in. It is amazing how much evidence has come in so quickly. I wonder how many other women Markoff ripped off, torturd, killed, and maimed to support his gambling problem?

other then the story about Markoff contacting transsexuals / transvestites and that he supposedly told his family that more has to come out, there has been no news. This latest news I mentioned is not official news but the official news that has come out so far makes me believe they have a strong case. Anyone know if there are any (court) dates set? Now I check CNN everyday but this swine flu news gets all the attention at the moment. Even downloaded American Psycho last night but I didn’t finish watching it, didn’t like it.
It will be interesting to hear how the story on the transvestites evolves, whether he attacked them as well. Maybe Markoff will turn out to be a real killer after all instead of a robber turned into a killer. Somehow these serial killers have interested me and it seems mostly a USA phenomenon. People or of course mostly men seem to be driven by sexual fantasies and a feeling of superiority. To do what Markoff has done requires a feeling of superiority.
I will be following this story with interest.

thanks, found it. That site contains much more “news”. How they know that Markoff has said that there is much more to come and that his family should move to California is unknown. Seems like information that can be ignored. Additional official information I guess will only we known when the court hearings start. So we will have to wait a month for that. That his fiance still supports him maybe suggests that we have been told too much fluf by the media. We will have to see.

Read above Boston Ap… I am a little discouraged that there is a lot of he said… being Leaked.? Seems like if so, they would of had that in the evidence report stated in court. Who really knows.

This case doesn’t seem like it would hinge on any DNA evidence. All that is really needed at this point is some solid ballistics data on the gun that they supposedly found at Markoff’s place. If it matches the bullets found in that dead girl, then the case is solidified.
DNA is less relevant here since there is no indication that the girls were sexually assaulted. Instead, they were being targeted as robbery victims.
One other thing to note, Markoff has declared himself as an indigent meaning he does not have resources to pay for a private attorney. It turns out he has been living off his student loans of over 100k.
This fits in with the robbery angle that people are pushing. Markoff has no resources to support his fairly large gambling habit , so he tried to rob escorts who tend to be cash rich (and also less likely to report a robbery because of the underground nature of their profession) to fund his gambling. And it just happened that one robbery went bad…

only official information I believe is:
- the camera shots,
- the plastic restraints (matched),
- duct tape (matched),
- text messaging (unknown content),
- finger prints,
- underwear of victims,
- gun (matched)
in my opinion pretty convincing evidence. What the reason is that his fiancee still believes in his innocence in unclear. I believe we will get a lot move information once the police is done with him since I assume he will receive some interrogations. Also his fiancee will get interrogated. Who knows … maybe she knows more than we think.

You know Diggy, you might be right. But there are so many students who live off loans. Broke. I believe the ballistics should be key too.
I am not convinced he murdered her. I am not convinced that someone didn’t know they were meeting, (if they did in fact meet) and not convinced a jealous lover or stalker didn’t do the crime. Someone who knew her itinerary.
Also, does anyone know who’s name the room was in? Julissa’s as for clients to follow or before him?
Time will tell, I am still praying for all the truth.

I am sure you all know already but the latest news via ABC is that they found 16 woman’s panties in total beneath Markoff’s bed. Further, apart from hanging himself he also tried to slit his wrists with a sharpened spoon.
Looks like this guy was on a rampage. Good he is stopped early. These are not the good old days when Ted Bundy was active. Then they only started using computers and various districts were not inclined to work together. Also no DNA evidence back then. What a difference 35 years can bring.

How pathetic. On one hand you want the killer caught, on the other you hope it’s not this guy? For me, I’m happy they caught the guy.
And, it’s not “innocent, until proven guilty” it’s “presumed innocent, until proven guilty” by the court. It doesn’t mean he didn’t do it. A rational person doesn’t wait until the trial when all of the facts show he’s the killer, that’s just stupidity.

There were 16 panties found under Markoff’s bed. The same bed he shared with Megan, his fiancee.
Does that mean there were 16 different victims?!?
NO!
Keep reading.
Follow the logic, starting with the victims own DNA found in thei panties.
If the panties were NOT Megan’s (his fiancee) then, did he collect the panties as a souvenir, from EVERY victim as a sick trophy?
Probably.
Then Markoff may have murdered at least 16 women.
Most were known to be prostitutes, so the 16 different panties, were the panties each of the possible victims were wearing just before he murdered them.
If he had sex with them, he probably used a condom, so the only DNA in their panties, was the DNA from each victim’s vagina, and their natural vaginal secretions.
Even if he did have unprotected sex, he probably killed them before they put their panties back on…. and this way, he would have prevented HIS DNA from ending up in their panties.
And, unless he washed the victim’s panties before storing them under his bed, then each of the women’s vaginal secretions are still in the panties, therefore, their DNA is still in their panties…. unless he washed them.
The vaginal secretions in each of the 16 different pairs of panties, contains the unique DNA that will help identify each of the victims.
The 16 pairs of panties are probably being checked for vaginal secretions that contain each woman’s DNA at this very minute.
That is, IF Markoff did NOT wash the panties, thereby removing the vaginal secretions/DNA.
The DNA in the panties will soon provide the “proof” as to whether these are 16 different women.
Here is something else very interesting…. remember, the victims were ALL (probably) prostitutes.
How many prostitutes carried extra panties with them?
Probably NONE with them as each entered his room.
The bigger question is, how many prostitutes did Markoff kill, that were NOT even wearing panties, on the day/evening he killed them?
I don’t know about the attire, or whether it is more “convenient” for prostitutes to NOT wear panties, or whether they were concerned about their “feminine hygiene” issues and requirements due to their profession….. but time will tell, at least for the previous owners of 16 pairs of panties, that were found under a known killers bed, as to who the women were, by their DNA, that he killed.
An even bigger question, why didn’t Megan, the killer’s fiancee, know about 16 different pairs of panties, that were under THEIR bed?!?!?
After a brutal crime like rape, it “used” to be that we were after the male’s DNA, left in the victim’s panties or vaginas. Something tells me we are about to get a lot more educated about the DNA found in vaginal secretions, left in the 16 different pairs of panties, that were found under Megan and Philip’s bed!
