Carrie Prejean one of the many contestants of Miss USA 2009 pageant stirred a controversy with her views on the Same Sex Marriage and it was quite evident that the audience didn’t like it.
When Judge Perez Hilton asked a question to her ,”Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”
This was Miss California Carrie Prejean’s response to that question, “I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that’s how I was raised.”
After her answer it was quite evident who was going to win the crown that evening as Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA 2009 and Prejean says it might be her comments that may have cost her the crown.
Keith Lewis,Shanna Moakler directors of the Miss California pageant organization and Perez Hilton were vocal in criticizing the contestant for her views on Gay Marriage.

I don’t know where to begin. Gay people have all the rights to do what they want. The issue here is freedom of thought, not to mention speech. And no it’s not hate speech. It’s not”let’s go out and kill all the queers” It’s a calmly expressed matter of opinion. I’m alot more concerned with Perez Hilton acting as the thought police. Where would it end? Would it eventually become a crime to state that I would like to actually eat a living organism that was cooked? This is the road to the government in V for Vendetta where no one dares speak out against the powers that be. Only the gay agenda/politically correct people are the ones assuming power. Human nature is proven in history. If behavior like this is not stopped in it’s tracks, the road leads to something like nazi Germany. I WANT FOR GAY PEOPLE TO LIVE THIER LIVES HOWEVER THEY WANT BECAUSE I ALSO WANT THE RIGHT TO SAY THAT I DON’T BELIEVE THAT A GAY UNION SHOULD BE COUNTED AS PRECISELY THE EXACT SAME THING AS A MARRIAGE BETWEEN A MAN AND A WOMAN. It’s like a matter of product labeling. A California Organic avocado had better be grown and harvested according to the prescribed standards in order to be called thus. Matrimony has the word ‘holy’ placed before it more than any other. If I beleive in a creator and that the genders were created for a combination intimacy/procreation interactivity, then by nature gay or lesbian sex is not exactly the same thing. I could care less if gay couples want to have a legal and civil union. It should be thier right. But to suppose that my right to free speech should be subject to demonization is W-R-O-N-G!!!!

@ Alan: Very rightly said…. We live in a country where everyone is really fortunate enough to say anything about anyone and that’s why we call it democracy and i don’t think anyone should have any objection to it.

How was her Freedom of Speech Restricted? I really want to know. You have the right to say whatever you want(this woman isn’t exactly being threatened with jail time here,) but if you say something people don’t like you better be prepared to get criticized. Because you know what? Other people have Freedom of Speech too.
