Reese Witherspoon Speaks Against Domestic Violence

The “legally Blonde girl” Reese Witherspoon is changing her tracks now and most probably also trying to devote her time to the benefit of her fellow women. The Oscar Winner who is also Global Ambassador for “Speak Out Against Domestic Violence,” Reese was spotted in Sao Paulo yesterday August 28 to promote a worldwide campaign of abuse against women.

Reese Witherspoon said to the press, “There isn’t a woman in the world that doesn’t have a friend or a partner who’s actually experiencing some sort of violence against them, so I think although domestic violence hasn’t happened to me personally, I certainly know women who are dealing with this struggle every day.”

She also said, “Domestic Violence affects women who are famous, who are not famous, women who have money, women who have no money. This is an issue that crosses all boundaries and it certainly affects everyone.”

Reese also announced the Avon Bracelet Sale which is the main financier of the charity and gave one to Maria da Penha Maia Fernandes (a paraplegic woman who suffered at the hands of her violent husband) as a symbol of hope.
